RIPE

RIPE as in rifampicin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide, and ethambutol are drugs (first line) for tuberculosis.

Isoniazid, toxicity-- hepatotoxicity, bone marrow suppression. It reacts with pyridoxal to form complex that is easily excreted out the urine. As pyridoxal is important for the nutrition of nerve, low in pyridoxal after excretion cause peripheral neuritis, and convulsion, especially in malnourished people.

Rifampicin toxicity -- pseudomonas coliitis, CNS disturbancces (thus causing dizziness, confusion), liver damage, nausea, rashes. Give orange tinge to saliva. Also induces liver enzymes -- thus more degradation of for pts on warfarin, glucocorticoids, oral antidiabetics, i.e. less effective for these drugs to work.

Pyrazinamide toxicity -- hepatotoxicity. inhibits renal excretion of uric acid -- thus causing hyperuricaemia.

Ethambutol toxicity -- optic neuritis (blurred vision, green/red color blindness), GIT disturbances, headache, giddiness (huh? XD).

SECOND LINE ANTI TB
PAS (para-aminosalicylic acid)
toxicity -- epigastric pain, hypersensitivity reactions (fever, joint pains, rashes.)

Ciprofloxacin For NON - TB induced TB (atypical TB)
Ofloxacin for Mycobacterium tuberculosis induced. TB.

Huh..?

I know I had said this for more than thousand times, but I couldn't help to say this again.

WHEN WILL EXAM END??
DON'T GIVE ME "Until you die" THING!!!

Ahem. Am I being aggressive?
Sigh... I so wished the exam would finish. Studying could be so painful some times especially if you have two full stack of papers (each measured approximately 4cm height) to read, without knowing the border of the exam questions... It was so different from my high/college school, where we could estimate what questions would come out in the exam by doing lots of past year questions... Back then, all my 'As' are taken for granted.

But now, there's nothing like this. >.<

Kuala Kubu Bahru

two days without yaoi. XD I already felt really disconnected from my life just two or three days ago. Even though I heard how horrible the hostel is, I never expected it to be this worst.

The room, accomodated eight people, with four double decker beds. It was fine at first, but as night grows on, it get hotter and hotter. THe air that is circulating inside couldn't get out from the room, the result? It's stuffy and hot. And all thorough the night, I didn't sleep...
Second worst, No water. NO kettle. The water I tried to boil from my friend's kettle but the water stink. I had to buy the bottles with RM2 every day. -- money wasting.
Third worst, No food. The mamak and canteen doesn't suit my taste. while the town needed a fifteen min walk.
Fourth worst, need to stay over during weekend. Our group is the only group that needed to stay over for six days five nights. And it's only three weeks left till final n I still hadn't started to study seriously!

I came back by a friend's car, I am really grateful for that, but I still need to get back there tomo morning.. that still means my heart is... feeling very blue. I know I'm fussy. I know I'm complainiing... I know I'm selfish. I know I'm perssimistic. I know.

But I can't change that.

Unfair, Furious...

I'm sitting here, right in front of the laptop, feeling really unfair and upset.

Shock, is what you called it.

Maybe to others, it might seem to be only a minor problem, but to a competitive person like me, I'm really really feeling unfair. And when I know that there's nothing I could do about it, all I could do is going into a 'shock'/'trauma' state.

Right now, my mind is ..... BLANK ....

Time flies

Time flies.
We always say that.
Time flies without us noticing it.
But how many of us actually appreciate the 'time'?
Everyday, waking up, eat breakfast, go to school, eat, lectures, come back, eat, studies, and sleep. Routine goes on.
Before we noticed it, one week passed.
Before we knew it, one month passed.
When we looked back, one year passed.
To think that I will be reaching adulthood in just a few more months, it makes me wonder...
next time I looked back, what will I become?

Lazy

What am i doing here? It's only the second week since school started but i felt like i had tons to catch up. Okay, starting from the basics, everyone are finding reference books, and yet i felt so carefree. then, i thought i had really finished reading all the lecture notes, but i still feel not enough since others are trying to get the books to read. From time to time, i will ask myself, WHy the hell am I in medicine again??

I know this's not the first time i felt like this. I'm just lazy... Curse me.

Today, i heard from my friend that there are people who have to repeat their year. I feel lucky enough that I didn't have to repeat the semester. If not, i won't have the guts to continue studying and repeating the same thing all over again, besides, I won't have the confidence to continue in this career. so, if i'm forced to repeat, I'd rather drop it.

Enough. ENough... I can't waste my parents money.
Time for revision.
Like hell!!
